Step out. Look!

Published December 30, 2012 by vfAith

Can we all just take a step outside?

We need to see with a whole new set of eyes

Different shoes or a pair of glasses won’t do the trick

We need to walk barefoot and look around for a lick

Long enough to actually see

We need to visualize this world differently

Even that is not a long enough time

For we need to know how our rhythm fits into the world’s rhyme

But don’t step back yet there is still more

Glance over there, what so you find in store

A mirror to see the you God created

It’s clear and bright plus you look elated

Yes! You are happy because you realize

That you dear friend are the prize

The one gift this world needs has been you

Thank you for stepping out and learning this crucial truth

The Devil is Troubled

Published December 12, 2012 by vfAith

(notes from Sunday’s service, so good I has to share:)
Matthew 2:1-9
After we lay prostrate then the devil is troubled not before

Troubled- fog, muddy up

The devil always wants to kill the spirit, always trying to discourage you
Where is the King so we can worship Him (seek Him specifically to worship Him)
Anybody or thing that you worship you reverence

Worship transforms you
Praise doesn’t change you
Worship for God moves you forward, changes the atmosphere

Worship understands worthiness

Worship to connect, to lick, to taste and see that that Lord is God
Out of love comes worship
Now I will not return the same way, God has me going another way

Not age but Confidence

Published December 7, 2012 by vfAith

Hey God,

To You our age, sex, or race doesn’t matter, yet it does.  You want us to not focus on ourselves. “I’m too young (old)” or “I’m to black (white, Spanish, Indian, Chinese, Philippine) to be accepted in that area.”  or “I’m a woman (man).”  God, You made us that way purposefully.

Which brings me to my second point, to You it does matter.  You designed us all in Your image.  After the fall we hid our beauty because it made us vulnerable.  However, if we want to be used by You we have to be, for though our weaknesses, faults, or humanness when can show others You.  As Paul said “when I am weak that is when He is strong, let me then boast all the more in my weakness” (2 Corinthians 11:30, 12:9-10). Lord, You want to use every part of us as a testimony to Your glory.

In order to be a witness for You God, You require a humble spirit, a willing heart, and a strong desire to do Your will.  You do not, Oh God, want pride, arrogance, or greed.  Then we would be right back at the beginning, focusing on our own selves.

Help us now Lord.  Give us the right ingredients to live a life fully devoted and completely undivided for Your name sake.

Truly,

Your Loved Friend
